Advanced Numbers
Objective:
Challenge: Create a design where a number or numbers is/Are the focus!
In this lesson students will design with numbers as their priority. Using graphic design trends, color harmonies and their skills in using typography, they will create a well organized space. The design should be for a specific purpose!
HINT: Look up "type font poster"
These typography posters do a great job of showing off the letters and advertising the font. You are doing the same thing but focusing on numbers!
Planning Steps:
Be sure to complete the *GOOGLE SLIDES* up to the sketch before staring on the computer. Submit your plan on Google Classroom for review!
Step 1. What will your Design be about?
Recall from Graphic Design 1:

Use your sketchbook/journal to write down what the purpose of your design will be:
Poster (Event, Band, TV series...) Product Advertisement Invitation T-shirt graphic Brochure Card Business Card Flyer Packaging design etc. |
Will this be one document or multiple? Think about how big it should be... 13x19 is the largest we can print it.
Step 2. find a reference (3 style, 3 Layout)
Choose a reference that inspires you in style, organization and color harmony. (You should have at least 3 reference images for style and 3 for layout!)
Print and glue into your sketchbook.
SteP 3. Choose a color harmony

Write down in sketchbook or print a reference/label.
Step 4. Sketch /(Reference)
Determine the best layout. (You should have at least 3 reference images of layout ideas!)
Use the elements and principles of design... focus on Alignment Unity Spacing etc.
Step 5. Getting started!

Everything is a number (focus on organization and not meaning)
